A lot of fun, team spirit and goals at the company soccer tournament in Umkirch.
A joint team of pro med instruments (PMI) and Feinmechanik (FM) empolyees entered the soccer field of VfR Umkirch on Friday, the 28th of June, to compete against soccer teams from other companies. In bright sunshine and with 34 degree Celsius, the tournament started for PMI with a game versus DePuy Synthes, which PMI won 1:0.
The team consisted of experienced and amateur soccer players from pro med instruments and Feinmechanik GmbH. The members of the team were Erik Worms, Silviu Miron, Alexander Kuhn, Pascal Schulz, Daniel Bury, Martin Schelb and Marco Willesch, supported by additional outside players Andreas Drachenberg, Mamdouh Ghouda, Tobias Groß und Luy Mabidisa. "It is not about playing perfectly. A fair play, good interactions and fun are much more important", says Alexander Kuhn on the theme of the day. The energetic mood and team dynamics paired with the new football shirts could not be overlooked and fueled the enthusiastic cheers of the supporters.
A total of 16 teams participate at the tournament, divided into two groups. The team PMI & FM met strong opponents within their group. The teams Knoll Feinmechanik, HelioSolar and Team Sunshine did not make it easy for our soccer players. They had to suffer two defeats but could also achieve three draws and celebrate two victories. Eric Worms in particular shone in his role as goalkeeper and was able to prevent several goals.
The team was energetically supported and cheered on by colleagues on the sidelines who had come to watch. Even if it was not enough for the overall victory, the team and their supporters celebrated the successful participation with sausages and cold beer.
